I am often asked,
“How can I learn English?”
Really, they are usually asking for a shot or a pill.
If you want to learn English, you have to use it every day.
Listen, Read, Talk, Write.
Here is an easy way to get some English input while listening to some of the world’s great literature.
Go to http://www.searchgodsword.org/
In the Search For box, type a chapter, like:
John 3
Psalm 23
and press Enter.
You can also enter a topic, like
Love, Angels, Jesus
After the computer searches and displays a passage, you may see “Click for Chapter Audio”
If you do, click and the reading should begin soon.
If you don’t see “Click for Chapter Audio”, first click on “Read Chapter”, then the audio selection should appear.
If you have any trouble, leave a detailed comment and I will try to respond.

"Attitude" wise words from Chuck Swindoll
I have given this to my seniors every year since I found it. Swindoll's website is www.insight.org
Along with the poem "If" by Kipling.
Attitude”
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
It is more important than the past,
than education,
than money,
than circumstances,
than failures,
than successes,
than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than
appearance,
giftedness
or skill.
It will make or break a company
... a church ...
a home.
The remarkable thing is
we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past ...
we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ...
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitude." - Chuck Swindoll

Time to Let Go!
Maybe you thought after 62 years, we could all just get along over here in Asia.
You would be wrong!
Exhibit A is the April 28, 2007 English newspaper, The Daily Yomiuri, published in Tokyo.
I give you two front page headlines:
First, WAR COMPENSATION DENIED,
Second, ABE EXPRESSES APOLOGY TO "COMFORT WOMEN"
The first story is about Chinese forced laborers seeking compensation. The court found against them.
The second story is about poor PM Abe trying to dis-entangle himself from the issue of the Korean ladies seeking an apology for being forced into sexual servitude for the Japanese army.
Maybe after 100 years?

In the beginning
In the beginning was the word,
and the word was with God.
And the THE WORD was GOD!!
So the Word became human
and lived here on earth among us.
He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.
And we have seen his glory,
the glory of the only Son of the Father.
